My name is Chris Lusk and I am a journalism senior at the University of Oklahoma. I currently work for the Oklahoma City Community College journalism department as the lab assistant with the Pioneer, OCCC’s student newspaper. My daily duties at the Pioneer consist of copy editing, page layout, instructing news writing students, supervising staff reporters, managing the online portion of the paper, overseeing the advertising manager, providing training to staff members, and conducting weekly budget meetings. Prior to holding the lab assistant position, I served as the Pioneer’s editor for two semesters, and a news reporter for one. In addition to the Pioneer, I also have volunteered my time as a copy editor for the OU Daily.
Following my graduation, I hope to work for a large-scale publication, focusing on utilizing multimedia to enhance stories. My goal is to one day hold the editor-in-chief position for a well-respected publication. I am a driven person who does not back down from a challenge.
